Feeling Unwanted
(TS) Feeling unwanted or lonely is like you are dethatched from all civilization. (C) Everybody knows how bad it feels, but not as many people know what it can lead to. (C) Also, sometimes, it could even make somebody antisocial because they just don’t know how to act around anybody. (CS) These feelings are awful, and they can only make things worse.
(TS) In chapter fourteen of To Kill a Mockingbird, Dill feels very unwanted. (SD) Dill thinks that his family would be better off without him. (C) Something that really shows this is when Dill says, “The thing is, what I’m tryin’ to say is-they do get on a lot better without me, I can’t help them any.” (C) Scout tries to explain to him that his family is actually better with him, but Dill, who is absolutely sure that his family does not need him, doesn’t agree. (Adjective Clause) (SD) Another reason why Dill thinks that he is unwanted is because his family buys him a bunch of toys, but, to Dill, it seems like they just want him to go away and play with his toys. (C) I can see why Dill thinks that, but I think that he should be able to realize that they do not actually think that. (C) That would be like you asking somebody to do something for you, and then after you just say, “Ok, now go away.” (SD) All Dill wants, is some attention and love from his parents. (C) Children need to feel love from their parents for things such as confidence. (C) Also, if they get attention, they will feel more like they fit in. (CS) Dill ran away from his family because he felt unloved, and unwanted, and this just proves how bad Dill felt from missing two things: love and attention.
(TS) Feeling lonely and unwanted is feeling like you have no one. (SD) Many people get lonely after having arguments with their friends. (C) Having a close friendship with somebody is important, and if there is a problem that arises in that friendship, the people who used to be very close may feel very isolated from each other. (C) Also, another negative affect of loneliness that results from lack of friendship is that loneliness can lead to even worse things, such as depression. (SD) If somebody has no close friends, they may feel very unwanted. (C) Loneliness can be characterized by a solitary existence. (C) In addition, loneliness may lead to an individual feeling dejected. (SD) Loneliness can also lead to social and emotional isolation. (C) Both types of loneliness can lead to lack of a social network. (C) Having a network of friends, co-workers, and family is very important to many people. (CS) Again, loneliness, which is an awful feeling, can result in serious issues leading you to feel socially and emotionally unwanted and unhappy. (Adjective Clause)
(TS) As you can now tell, feeling unwanted or even feeling lonely is not good. (C) It is like a downward slope that will leave you in a bad spot. (C) Dill, a character in the book To Kill a Mockingbird, is a great example of this. (CS) If you ever feel unwanted, try your hardest to get out of that hole, and back to normal again.
